Like pretty much everyone in New York City we moved apartments this past weekend, and had to get a seven-foot painting of a rhino up a steep, tight flight of stairs. It wouldn’t fit, and I was freaking out. Dwayne, one of the guys we hired to help us move, said, “maybe we should break the frame?”

Then another kind man, Lorenzo, just showed up on the street, drinking an iced coffee. He’s the super from the building next door. He said, “I can help you take the window out,” and he did, and Dwayne and I pulled it up from the top as Lorenzo passed it up from the top of one of his ladders, and we got him in. Simple!

This week’s free yoga class helps you chill out if you’ve just moved house.

I don’t know about you but I tend to “dress-rehearse tragedy” in my head. Anticipating all the pinch-points in a move, for example. But we never anticipate the things that actually do happen, and it turns out, life usually has a way of helping us solve those if we detach a little and just let life happen.

Moved house recently? Planning a big move? Here’s a yoga class that might help you chill out!

The class is good to generally calm down and find a sense of stillness and grounding, of course. You don’t have to be moving house to benefit from yoga practice.

As a friend of mine and fellow teacher said this week, “if you’re not doing yoga right now, you’re in deep shit,” and I think she’s right. It’s a tool for navigating life particularly when there’s a lot of uncertainty.

Love from,

Matt

P.S. It’s This Week’s Vegetarian Recipe! Okay, so my top tip this week is to get pizza. I mean seriously. Namaste 🙏
