I was all set to teach an hour-long vinyasa flow class yesterday, when I looked out the window. The editor of Vogue was sitting at a table across the street having lunch.

I read a biography of Anna Wintour 15 years ago when I first moved to America. I loved the way she moved into new jobs. She’d always get a new desk brought in. And make her office all chi-chi.

Her colleagues would get a bit insecure and annoyed, but she’d do it anyway. Talk about making space for yourself. I also love the way she wears those sunglasses all the time. It’s like, “go away. I’m in here thinking and I’m drawing a line between us.”

She seems to understand power. Anyway I was star-struck. And I felt a big movement in my energy. Like, distracted. Not grounded. Triggering lots of different feelings.

That’s where yoga comes in. Sure, I may not be an A-list celebrity. But Anna Wintour and I are very similar, in fact. We both breathe in and out, and both of us have a limited amount of time here on earth.

You, too, are very like Anna Wintour, in that respect.

Take my 60-minute yoga class for the star-struck, here.

Love from

Matt
