Hi, friend.
When Covid hit, my good friend Ron recommended a blog called The Shoe Snob, which features videos of how to polish your shoes. It turns out I’ve been polishing my shoes wrong, all these years. Adding a layer of polish to the polish already on the shoes is like caking on makeup.
In fact, you’re supposed to ✨rejuvenate and nourish the underlying leather💫 to bring out its inherent shine. 👞
It takes more effort. It takes patience. All that “rubbing in” requires a few hours. But in the end, your shoes have a deep and sustainable glow.
Yes, I am comparing you to a pair of shoes, but, like, Manolo Blahniks. Grensons. Or perhaps even Jimmy Choos.
Sorry if I’m over-exuberant with the metaphor today but I do love this idea of taking time to rejuvenate and nourish our…underlying leather. With an unusual caveat from me that this class is quite demanding and as a result, you’ll need to be ready to put in some hard work.
You see what I did there, reader? I gave you ever such a slight sense of challenge…
